“Fabulous place and great hospitality”

We arrived in torrential rain (the first for two months) planning to pitch our tents in the field. The fabulous owner kindly offered for us to pitch our tents in the barn and even cleared the area for us, provided umbrellas and a washing line to dry our clothes.
The girls had a brilliant time in the fabulous pool (despite the rain) and we had lots of laughs camping in the barn. With a superb local restaurant for dinner, lots of sporting equipment available at the site and some amazing countryside all around, along with a local lake for activities - this would be a wonderful place to spend more time.
Great stay overall. Thank you to Jeremie for his welcome and his availability.

Stayed a week
Amazing accommodation, with a stunning view and large pool. The gite was very well equipped and spacious. Jeremie was fantastic when we arrived and throughout with local recommendations and general helpful. Would definitely recommend here and would love to come back.
Very relaxing and pleasant in a beautiful country corner of France
The tranquility of the place in the middle of nature, the cottage very spacious, well equipped and comfortable and the kindness of the owner. The proximity to the village of Brossac and nearby small historic towns made it possible to get to know this beautiful corner of Charente and enjoy long spring days.

An unforgettable stay ( we will come back) a wild and peaceful setting as if we were the house. Clear simple community rules adapted to everyone ( very important for sharing the premises )
There is no shopping mall nearby so don't come to go shopping! (Board games provided on-site )
Some nearby internet activities will help you.
I hope the host was happy with our presence as well as it's very important that it works in the 2 senses😊😘.

Fantastic setting for a family holiday, enjoy the beautiful swimming pool and the many activities, don't change a thing. Children and parents under the starry skies at dinner.

Planned a last minute get away mid September and came across Chez Sarrazin and a competitive price for the smaller Gite on site. David and Sarah were really helpful from the point of contact and flexible with regards our arrival time. Accommodation more than met expectation well maintained and with all the facilities we needed. Location was beautiful and extraordinarily peaceful, no other guests during our short stay but the layout would have meant little issues I suspect from campsite and other Gite. Our hosts provided great information and advice on what to see and where to eat shop etc and meant we didn’t waste the few days we had in guessing the best options. Recommend people read the packs put together as they offer top tips and reflect the care and attention to detail shown by David and Sarah as did the property itself. In hindsight cannot really think how we could have had a better experience in terms of our accommodation and the the sites we saw all within just 40 min drive. Only down side is the high expectation we will now have of other places !

A perfect spot!
We camped here for a week and it was absolutely amazing. Spotless facilities, and a fantastic location. We loved the relaxed atmosphere, our children were genuinely safe to roam and meet up with friends to play a game of football or table tennis. The owners were friendly, available and helpful. The swimming pool was perfect, lots of shade and space. Lots of extra touches, like BBQ’s/garden furniture to borrow and a fridge to use. We had such a fabulous time. We will be back!

As a group of 8 we stayed for a week in Gite L’Ecurie and we had a fantastic time! The property was immaculate, very modern and had everything we needed. It slept 8 comfortably with large living, cooking and dining areas. The teenage boys in our group particularly enjoyed our pool table and the area for football and badminton. The private terrace overlooking beautiful countryside was perfect for our meal times. We made use of the terrace and the BBQ area. The pool and surrounding pool area was a great size and was never overcrowded. At times we had the pool to ourselves, which our group thoroughly enjoyed throughout the holiday. The location of Chez Sarrazin is great - close to multiple small villages with supermarkets and restaurants. There were also great towns within an hours drive. Our hosts, Sarah and David were very welcoming and give us great advice on places to visit and were available at any time for any query. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they assisted us before our arrival with advice on car hire, they gave us clear directions and they even booked us a table in a local restaurant for our first night. Would definitely not hesitate to return and hopefully we will in the future !!

Great little campsite
We have just spent 6 fantastic nights camping at Chez Sarrazin. 100% positive experience from the initial correspondence when booking to leaving. When we arrived we were shown around and shown our large, shady pitch, we were given a brilliant info pack with things to do and places to visit in the area.
The pool was lovely and clean. The campsite was full at times (6 tents!) And I believe all the gites were full too, but we never struggled to get a sunbed, there were plenty.
Toilets/wash basins etc were always clean and had loo roll, soap, washing up liquid, towels and even an iron & ironing board. There was a room full of toys, games & info leaflets we could use and also a couple of fridges too. We would definitely return of we are ever in the area again.
What a truly fabulous place! Just back from our stay with our two boys aged 5 and almost 3 and we all absolutely loved it. L'Ecurie was perfect for us. Spacious, spotless and extremely well equipped. The space and freedom for the boys to explore was fantastic and second to none. We were very lucky in that we pretty much had the pool to ourselves. David and Sarah are so welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. A total gem of a place.

We have just returned from our stay here. Well what can I say, absolutely loved it! It’s nestled in idyllic surroundings, completely secluded with countryside all around. Sarah and David were lovely hosts, nothing was too much trouble, they were always at hand for our every need. With a great knowledge of the local area. The pool is amazing, lovely and warm, and all the games in the garden proved a hit with the kids. The accommodation is really clean and has everything you could possibly need! Highly recommend this place.

First time we'd taken the kids abroad, 5 star camping I would say and both David & Sarah made us very well. Lovely quite campsite, just the right amount of facilities for us and a bonus of a pool.
We couldn't have picked a better week as the temperatures never went below 25 and it was warm & sunny everyday which meant a trip in the lovely pool for all of us. Would highly recommend it and hoping to come back this year.

We stayed in Gite L'Ecurie, 3 meticulous bedrooms and 3 comfortable modern bathrooms, good beds. Dining room and pool table. TV with all UK channels and good size kitchen. The gite is close to the main house however, we enjoyed privacy and a magnificent view of the country side. We also enjoyed the swimming pool. David and Sarah are perfect hosts, we instantly felt very welcome. It is like home from home, especially for us. Excellent standard. Attention to every aspect of great comfort for all.

The wedding was spectacular and well arranged, the three days celebration was above and beyound expectation. We left France with warm and cosy memories as always, but this time it was extra special, with the added element of this wedding.

AirBnB Review - We were a family of 6 staying at Sarah's place for 5 days. Sarah and David were very welcoming and left us a great guidebook. They couldn't have been more helpful, they brought us sunflowers and gave us great tips for local restaurants. The house was as described in the listing and had all of the amenities we needed. The location was perfect once you have a car. We hope to visit again.
Wonderful setting and friendly atmosphere. David and Sarah are very welcoming and helpful. The Gite was perfect, everything you would need especially the snooker table. Very roomy property, peaceful but near shops etc. Fantastic pool and plenty of outdoor and indoor games for the children. Well worth the drive from Calais.

Wonderful ... lovely location
Lovely location , very friendly owners , and very helpfull , nice for family's ... the lake in Brossac is just like you visit the beach and it's only 5 minute's away ... the gite itself is nice , the view on the terras is stunning and the pool wil entertain the kids for hours we loved it ....

Gite L'Ecurie
Great place for a relaxing holiday with great views on the surrounding landscape.
The owners are great, very help full and with great knowledge of the area. The gite was very clean, everything you need is present with a nice extra bonus for our children (Snooker table). Outside a nice area with badminton, table tennis and croquet field. Swimming pool nicely situated with plenty of trees to hide in the shades from time to time.

This was our second year with David and Sarah.
It is a small site with 6 camping/caravan plots and 2 gites.
The toilet block is scrupulously clean and the swimming pool is fabulous with views over Brossac.
With so few people on site it is possible to have personal use of the whole pool.
We will be back again next year.

From TripAdvisor - "Excellent location to relax and unwind". We are staying in Gite La Fleurette. The views from all the windows are to die for and, when the weather is grotty, there are 2 big comfy sofas to curl up on in front of the log burner. Lovely, comfortable beds and pillows and nothing to disturb a great night' s sleep. Our hosts, Sarah and David are lovely, friendly, helpful people. This is a great winter retreat if you really want to relax and unwind and there's still lots to see without loads of other tourists clogging up the views!
We camped at Chez Sarrazin for two nights at the end of August with our two young girls and wished we could have stayed longer. We received a very warm welcome from Sarah and David who were extremely helpful and ensured we had a great stay. The girls loved a ride in Davids tractor and trailer! The site is just perfect, with a maximum of 6 pitches i can't imagine it would ever feel crowded. In a lovely, secluded little field a short walk from the toilet/ shower and beautiful swimming pool. There are added facilities such as the use of a washing machine, a fridge nearby and an information room with great local knowledge (leaflets etc) plus a large range of games/ activities for all ages. Our children were so happy here, free to play in the spacious field or the large, well equipped play area and of course the pool. Facebook Review - What a fabulous three weeks we had with our caravan down at the end of the Chez Sarrazin track this summer. Everything was perfect, we couldn't have been happier. Managed to make ourselves very comfortable on the flattest areas of the site, with the beautiful secure pool just a short walk up the hill. Very clean toilet block with great showers. Peaceful and quiet, kids roamed freely, space to play, space to breathe. Great owners, helpful without interfering. Wall to wall sunshine and sunflowers! Best holiday ever!
Gite L'Ecurie was Immaculately clean, comfortable and well equipped. It's in a beautiful location with superb views over the French countryside. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating - David and Sarah gave us a tour and showed us all the hard work they've done in the fabulous updating of the property they acquired a year or two ago.
It was a couple of km from the pretty village of Brossac and about one hours drive from Bordeaux airport. We had great trips out to Talmont-sur-Girande on the coast and the amazing monolithic church at Aubeterre.
The gite had a well-equipped kitchen, spacious dining area, pool table, comfy bedrooms, three bathrooms (two en-suite) and a private terrace with ample seating and great views. The two gites and the farmhouse on the property don't overlook each other so the space was our own, and the small campsite (six pitches) is down in a valley a couple of hundred metres away behind trees. There is a lovely shared outdoor swimming pool with plenty of loungers and trees for shade, table tennis, and lots of games to keep everyone entertained. We had satellite tv and wifi in the gite, and there is ample parking.
We loved it and hope to return!
Just spent 10 peaceful and relaxing nights at Chez Sarrazin in our caravan whilst hunting down a more permanent holiday home in the area. Excellent facilities and perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Chalais and Brossac are fine places to visit, and Aubeterre is a short drive away on very quiet roads. Thoroughly recommended. Thank you David and Sarah.
A beautiful and elegant retreat in the Charente - superlative value for relaxing holiday

Chez Sarrazin is just beautiful. Clearly converted and maintained with love and respect for its character and the surrounding Charente countryside, this is a wonderful base for visitors to the Charente. I cannot praise it enough. I travelled with teenagers and a toddler and this suited these diverse needs with its wonderful child friendly facilities - the photos do not do the space justice, we were amazed by the space and the facilities provided - volleyball net, badminton, croquet, boules, rugby and footballs , darts (!), boardgames, jigsaws, wifi. And the pool is just incredible - a Hockney like splash set in gorgeous countryside. The gardens are so beautifully landscaped and maintained, it feels truly luxurious as well as friendly and welcoming. Sarah and David are marvellous welcoming hosts, so kind and generous. The bread and pack of butter, milk, coffee and tea as part of the starter kit was so thoughtful and welcome- I had been worried about breakfast on the Sunday morning but this was taken care of. Hotel like touches such as good quality towels, and soap provided gave an extra, unexpected level of luxury.
Eco friendly too with careful encouragement to recyle and sort rubbish including food waste for compost was great.
Incredible value I would recommend to all - and would certainly return. Thank you Sarah and David!

We've just returned from a fantastic family holiday at the excellent Gite La Fleurette! Our hosts, David and Sarah were absolutely brilliant who both went out of their way to make us all, including our dogs, feel extremely welcome both before and throughout our stay.
The pet-friendly Chez Sarrazin is a superb base for any family holiday consisting of the beautiful main house and fabulous gardens, two gites (both of which can comfortably sleep 6 people), a large camping area with large individual pitches, a really excellent swimming pool area, a large 'play area' with enough 'sports'' for all ages as well as a modern laundry room and plenty of parking space.
We stayed in the lovely single storey Gite La Fleurette surrounded by fields of golden sunflowers. The accommodation is very tasteful with 3 good sized and individually decorated bedrooms (one even featured a large bread oven which proved to be a perfect 'den' for our two dogs), a well equipped kitchen, a spacious family / living room with free WiFi, TV/DVD a wood burner and an easily accessible shower room / toilet. Gite La Fleurette also benefits from a private outdoor BBQ and garden dining area and shared access to the really excellent swimming pool.
Chez Sarrazin is well sign-posted from the main road and easy to get to from just about anywhere. It's about 2k across the valley from the sleepy village of Brossac, 5k from the Lac Etang (which has a bar and the wonderful Restaurant Quai Sud featuring a terrace overlooking the lake). The bigger town of Chalais is 8k or so away which contains just about everything everybody will need as well as a large market every Monday featuring loads of local produce.
Chez Sarrazin is about an hours drive of Bordeaux, Royan, Cognac, Bergerac and Angouleme as well as in easy reach of the sandy beaches on the Atlantic coast. There's also plenty to do locally if you didn't want to travel too far.
We would thoroughly recommend Chez Sarrazin / Gite La Fleurette to anybody and will definitely be returning next year (if there's any availability left!)
Chez Sarrazin is the perfect location for relaxing and taking in the beautiful rural surroundings. I stayed in La Fleurette which was immaculate, very spacious and I loved how each bedroom was unique. I was even lucky enough to have a bread oven in my room!
The quiet country lanes are ideal for bike rides or, as I discovered, walks complete with a picnic in the picture perfect surroundings.
The grounds are beautifully kept and the swimming pool a very good size.
The owners David and Sarah could not have been more hospitable, nothing seemed too much trouble for which I thank you both.
I felt so at home during my stay at Chez Sarrazin I have booked to come back later in the year.
What a wonderful place to stay. Rural but easy drive to Bordeaux and St Emillion. Local towns which were charming to visit and sit out and drink wine.
Chez Sarrazin was peaceful and charming. We stayed in Gite L'Ecurie which had beautiful views and was very well equipped inside and out. We were very impressed with the quality and speed of the Wi Fi. Our hosts Sarah and David were hospitable and very helpful (it was very helpful that they are English., but I was particularly impressed with Sarah's fluent French). The weather was fabulous, the swimming pool was excellent and the standard of hygiene everywhere was impeccable. The gardens are beautiful and very well tended. We are returning next year for a family holiday and for two weeks, one was not enough.

Our gite 'La Fleurette' was lovely, it has everything you could need and the rooms are full of character. You really do get a sense of privacy with gites as you are not overlooked by anyone else. There really is nothing better than falling asleep to the noises of the French countryside (singing green tree frogs) and waking up to the stunning surrounding views. We especially loved the room with the bread oven in it! Sarah and David (owners) were most welcoming and helpful and couldn't do enough to make sure we had a great stay. We took our 10 month baby with us and we all had a lovely time relaxing by the sizable pool in the sun. And the occasional cherry falling down from a nearby tree provided us with some really tasty pool snacks! The village of Brossac is a 20 minute walk away and folks there are very friendly. Chez Sarrazin is such an idilic place and really does offer excellent value for money.
